Levester WilliamsLevester Williams is a native of Lansing, Michigan, and a senior at University of Michigan’s School of Art and Design with a minor in Afro-American and African Studies. Levester is part of Shipman Honors Society dedicated to scholarship, service, and leadership, and am a recipient of Sidney J. and Irene Scholarship awarded to the top fifteen students of the entering class at University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Some of Levester’s roles include A & D Ambassador for School of Art and Design, mentor for Support for Black Incoming Students Mentorship Program, 3-D artist for ViVi student productions, and co-founder of Ubomi Beads. |

Sandra YangSandra was born and raised in Oakland, CA. She is a first-generation high school graduate and first-generation college attendee. Sandra received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011 with a major in interdisciplinary studies: health policy and society and minor in African American studies. Before completing a semester at the University of Cape Town, Sandra interned at the City of Berkeley Public Health Department, led the Cal Boxing Team as Co-captain, researched for the Youth Experiences of Neighborhood Change project, and mentored Bay Area high school students. She is currently an Ambassador for a non-profit, Civic Pride, which focuses on increasing civic literacy and leadership among youth in her community. In fall 2012, she will be attending Emory University for her MPH in Health Policy and Management. Her passion lies in addressing health policy issues affecting racial and ethnic minorities and underserved communities. |

Rejoice JonesRejoice Jones was born in Grand Rapids, MI but she was raised in Metro Atlanta. Rejoice received her bachelors in Political Science at Emory University in 2011. Currently Rejoice is a Teach For America Corps member, where she teaches kindergarten in Metro Atlanta. Rejoice loves to laugh, imagine, and inspire others to have a healthy disregard for the impossible. Rejoice is an advocate of individuality and enjoys making documentaries about socialization and political effect. “If I dream of everything but yet do nothing, I am a mere shadow striving to be light. Mario CarrollMario Jay Carroll obtained his bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and in Rhetoric, graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011. Raised by a single mother, and having studied in South Africa, he is involved with Ubomi Beads because of its aim to help promote the economic empowerment of women in South Africa. Some of his other involvements include being a contributor to the programs of the M3 Education Foundation in Berkeley, an immediate past Assistant Vice President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, and a graduate of the Institute for Responsible Citizenship in Washington D.C. He is currently pursuing acceptance to law school, seeking to obtain a juris doctorate degree. After obtaining this degree, he hopes to practice public interest law, focusing on social justice issues, while working in government or elsewhere in the public sector. |

Muma KhumaloMuma Khumalo was born in exile in Lusaka Zambia, but returned with his family to a transitioning government during the early 90′s. His families role and continued involvement in politics exposed him to a different reality and inspired him to strive to make a positive impact on society from a young age. He is currently a student at the University of Cape Town in labour studies with a minor politics. He has been involved in various out reach support programs such as Hands of Compassion, which is aimed at the alleviation of impoverished communities. He has served on the executive committee for an international organization called Habitat for Humanity, managing logistics for the organization. He is an executive member of the United Nations Association of South Africa, actively involved in various projects and spreading awareness about the UN Millennium development goals. He has served in different leadership positions at his university as a residence representative, Hillsong youth leader, a member of the Student Council initiative for business development, and as an executive member for the Zambian Society. He is the co-founder of Tokyo Industries an online branding and consulting company. |
